I AM TAYLOR GREY
With the essence of an old soul and a youthful approach to life, 20-year-old singer-songwriter, Taylor Grey, is a promising newcomer to the Alternative Pop community. Known for her emotional ballads and catchy uptempo pop hits, her vocal style and range makes her a fan favorite.
Growing up in Northern California and currently a Junior at Stanford University, Taylor’s love for music came at a very young age. Starting her career in musical theater, Taylor began writing lyrics at 12 years old. Shortly after, she started teaching herself both the piano and guitar which enhanced her passion for writing and performing her own music. With a wide range of influences in Classic Rock, and 90’s Hip-Hop, Taylor continues to grow and develop her own unique sound and songwriting style. Thus, creating a sophisticated and cross-generational refined pop alternative concoction.
Making her debut in 2016, with “Mind of Mine I & II”, a two-part EP that was co-written and produced with up-and-coming producers, Benjamin Taylor and Bryan Morton. Taylor soon caught the eyes and ears of Pop Artist, Jacob Whitesides and shortly after, jumped on his summer “Lovesick” Tour as his opening performer and making it her national debut with a full live band. Quickly, her fan base began to grow and gained even more traction when she joined The Summer Set’s sold out “Made For You” Tour as a special guest throughout the USA in the fall of 2016.
Following a successful first year, Taylor Grey began campaigning for the release of her debut album, Space Case. In February 2017 she released the album first single, “Never Woulda Letcha” along with her first ever music video reflecting her flirtatious style. Traction was deepened by Taylor’s top single “Miami” featuring solo artist Spencer Kane. The single was premiered live the night of it’s release on May 19th, 2017 at the Billboard Music Awards Radio Row Opening Ceremony in Las Vegas.
Taylor kicked off the summer in Tiger Beat’s June 2017 issue as their featured Artist On the Rise and with the highly anticipated official release of her debut album, Space Case on June 16, 2017. The debut album was executive produced by the award winning, Josh Abraham (Justin Bieber, P!nk, Kelly Clarkson, etc.) and produced by Nico Stadi who has recorded with some of pop’s biggest recording artist such as Justin Bieber, Lindsey Stirling, and Jason Derulo. Featured on album are special appearances by The Vamps’ Brad Simpson (“Fallin’”) and Spencer Kane (“Miami”). Space Case personifies current pop music trends in both Taylor’s driving beats, and whimsical, emotionally driven storytelling. Taylor identifies her music as a hybrid and refers to her style of music as ‘space pop’. Her music is filled with spontaneous introspection and authenticity, plus it’s undeniably infectious. Her 12 tracks on Space Case reflect various musical passions and her uncanny ability to tap into self-awareness lyrically while maintaining a positive and bright feel.
In correlation with the release, Taylor joined forces with Jacob Whitesides again for his “Basically Happy” Tour along the west and southern coast. Shortly after, joined the legendary boy band O-Town for a handful of select dates. Keeping her momentum going, Taylor dropped the official music video for “Miami” with Spencer Kane on August 4, 2017. The music video has received rave reviews and was premiered by Tiger Beat and AXS.
Taylor Grey is currently writing her next project and continues on her radio promo tour throughout the fall of 2017. Stay tuned for more tour dates, radio appearances and music to come.
